Mission Trips

Another item that might be attractive on a resume is the inclusion of a mission trip. Gaining a job can be a difficult task because of the competitive nature of the job market. Like I have said many times, in this blog, it is all about standing out. I encourage you to consider participating in a mission trip. This not only adds something a bit unique to your resume, it also portrays you as a person. By revealing who you are as an individual, you are able to stand against the competition beyond your involvements, alone. As I think about entering the work force, I often struggle with the fact that I am not going into a job that is particularly known for being a place for ministry to take place, such as being a pastor or missionary. However, by gaining experience, such as through a mission trip, you might be able to develop skills that you will be able to use in your career. I have come to realize that one's mission field can occur in any setting. I can shine God's light in an office, just as much as I can shine it to children of Africa.

Check out this website. The organization provides opportunities for people to serve within the United States, which can be helpful considering how busy people are in our society and the amount of money it can cost to travel over seas.
